Hoppers are Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC) volunteers who do everything from mic wrangling to managing crowd control. GHC wouldn’t be a success without their hard work and dedication.
For their efforts on behalf of GHC, Hoppers receive complimentary registration and are able to attend sessions, visit the career fair, and take advantage of everything GHC has to offer.
Hoppers pay for their own airfare, lodging, meals and other expenses.
These volunteers work multiple shifts, up to eight non-consecutive hours spread over the three days of the celebration. They must attend an orientation and commit to their assigned shifts. Hoppers may sometimes miss sessions in order to make GHC run successfully.
Due to limited space in the program, our selection process is competitive. We factor in availability, interest, commitment to the program, and experience volunteering in big events.
